Traill County Social Services has a tiered administrative structure.  The County Director is responsible for overseeing overall agency operations, personnel, fiscal planning/management, and day-to-day operations.  The Agency is directly responsible to the Traill County Social Service Board which provides fiscal and advisory oversight.

The Board is accountable to the Traill County Commission which provides county jurisdiction and fiscal appropriations.  Additionally, the North Dakota Department of Human Services serves as a regulatory, fiscal, technical assistance, and monitoring agent.

The Traill County Social Service 2013 authorized operational budget is $1,048,050, with annual revenues over $300,000.  This budget includes the county share of funding for services and some state/federal programs.  It does not include financial benefits paid to clients through various programs such as Food Stamps, Medical Assistance, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).  The estimated value of Social Service Programming in Traill County annually is $13,000,000.  Therefore, for every $1 of county dollars invested there is over a $13 return to citizens.
